Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Remeberence

This week is Baby Loss Awareness Week, October 15th is Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Remeberence Day, and today on Sense of Soul podcast we will be remembering Dylan Taylor. His parents, our dear friends Angelica and Billy Taylor joined us for a hard and very heartfelt conversation.
In 1997 the newly married couple were preparing for their first child. They had learned through an ultrasound that they were having a boy. Billy and Angelica were so excited to begin their lives as parents. Everything was going well until Angelica begun to have concerning symptoms that lead her to the hospital, in her second trimester. 
Angelica was diagnosed with “HELLP Syndrome” a rare pregnancy complication. It is a type of preeclampsia that causes elevated liver enzymes and low platelet count. Many women who have HELLP syndrome need to give birth early to prevent health complications. 
Angelica and Billy were faced with having to make decisions that nobody should ever have to make. However this was an emergency and the urgency was a matter of life and death. The risks were great, inducing labor would mean that their baby would be very premature, but if they didn’t, there would be a chance Billy would lose them both. 
Angelica and Billy take us back to the day they had their firstborn, to the moments they lost their firstborn. Hear from a fathers prespective as Billy so genuinely shares his story, learn how they struggled in grief, yet managed to survive this traumatic loss and find their happy once again.

Text Messages From Heaven

Today on Sense of Soul Podcast, we have with us Louise Hamlin, she joined us to tell us about one of the most extraordinary afterlife stories we’ve heard. Which she details in her book, WhatsApps from Heaven, Bereavement in the Twenty-first Century.
Louise describes in the book, the many extraordinary and unexpected communications that she received from her late husband, Patrick. Although Louise was sceptical and looked for all sorts of other explanations, she eventually came to accept that the signs, including WhatsApps and dematerialisations, must have come from her husband's spirit in the afterlife.

Addiction and Mental Health

Today on Sense of Soul we have with us Dr. Philip Hemphill, he is a thought leader in the behavioral health and addictive service industry. He was a Strategic Board Advisor for All Points North (APN) before becoming Chief Clinical Officer.
All Points North is located in Colorado, it is a wellness and personal development center. APN offers a unique virtual therapy program allowing therapists to see clients in real-time in their recurring environments.
Dr. Hemphill moved throughout the system of care as a consultant, manager, leadership coach, and strategic planner. He has developed and executed numerous programs, such as program design, 360-degree monitoring, professional evaluation, fitness for duty recommendations, staff training and supervision, vocational and professional reintegration, workplace monitoring, staff development, coaching, and administrative management of the programs.
Dr. Hemphill has served as the Chief Clinical Officer of a premier addiction treatment facility where he was responsible for the planning, organizing, implementing, and directing of all the company’s behavioral health and addictive services.
He utilized cost-effective methodologies while ensuring the clinical quality of those services. As a member of the Executive Leadership, he worked collaboratively with medical staff leaders in decision-making structures and processes.
He was the lead person for developing and implementing plans for the provision of patient care services, policies, and procedures that delineate how needs were assessed and delivered by the company.
He has served as a full-time Professor of Practice in the Tulane School of Social Work teaching and supervising research for the next generation of professional social workers. He has taught courses on Program Evaluation, Evidence-based Research, Human Behavior in the Social Environment II, Advanced Clinical-Community Practice, Advanced Research Methods, Psychopathology and DSM-5, Intro to Social Work Practice, and Sex Therapy.
He has presented papers and workshops at national conferences and published articles in the field of trauma, personality disorders, and addictions during the past 29 years. Grief, Loss and the Afterlife

Today on Sense of Soul we have Karen V. Johnson, JD, she is a graduate of Georgetown Law Center (J.D.), a former Fulbright Scholar in Afghanistan, and holds Masters Degrees in Public Health and Public and International Affairs (MPH, MPIA). Karen is a retired federal administrative law judge who practiced criminal and energy law for more than 30 years. She also is a former U.S. Army officer, Major, USAR (inactive). 
Today she is part of the Four Winds Society and is a Master Practitioner of Energy Medicine. She has trained extensively in the techniques of Illumination, Soul Retrieval, Extractions of Energies and Entities, Divination, and Death Rites. 
She joined us to tell us about her book Living Grieving: Using Energy Medicine to Alchemize Grief and Loss (Hay House, July 7th, 2021), her first book.
When Karen Johnson's 27-year-old son Ben died due to a drug overdose, her world came to an abrupt halt. Enveloped in unbearable grief with no spiritual belief, Karen tried to make sense of everything while communicating with Ben's spirit in the Afterlife. Karen left her lifetime appointment as a Federal Judge of over 30 years, sold all of her belongings, and went on a 2½ year journey around the world in search of healing and understanding of the spirit world she was now communicating with. Communication with Ben's spirit increased during her travels, leading her to discover shamanism as her new path.
